Pumpkin Squash Inspection & Cleaning Line

Inspects and sorts pumpkins and squashes for size or rot and then cleans the ones that pass.

Previously used for squash but originally designed for pumpkins, but it should work with both and other similar sized produce. It was last used October 2023.

It works by submerging a tote of produce into a water bath, then the produce floats out into a flue and onto the line. Workers on the line have a chance to inspect as the produce floats by and remove any bad product. It flows onto a conveyor which takes it to a scrubber, with rolling scrubber brushes underneath and rotary scrubber brushes above. The overhead scrubbers can have their height adjusted easily to accommodate the size of the produce being cleaned. After it is scrubbed it passes through two overhead dryer units and exits onto the discharge conveyor.

The overall size is approximately 40' long and 8' wide. It would require a full truckload to ship.
